Von Dutch is an American brand created in 1947, named after a nickname given to the creator himself, real name Kenny Howard. Von Dutch designs started out as imagery used to decorate vintage motorbikes and cars. Kenny grew up with a Los Angeles sign painter for a father which meant by the age of ten, young Howard was able to design and paint at a very professional level and at a young age. Growing up, he began making money by customizing vehicles. You may know some of his famous work which include the flying eyeball logo and the custom 'kenford truck' along with a huge number of custom motocycles and award winning cars. Pin stripes were popular with Von Dutch, with the ability to complete pin stripes by hand and to prefection, this gave rise to the legend of Von Dutch as the pin striper even to this day.
