VIVIENNE WESTWOOD MAN

Vivienne Westwood is a self titled luxury british brand, by Vivienne Westwood herself. Born in 1941, her family was very fashion based with her father, working as shoe maker and a mother who was a cotton weaver. Vivienne choose to become a primary school teacher, teaching in schools all across South London. It wasn't until 1965 where Westwood began a business partnership with Malcolm Mclaren where she marked the beginning of her experimentation with fashion design. Mclaren and Westwood took over a shop in London and was then called 'Let It Rock'. This shop today is now known as 'World's End' although the name changed many times before this name fully stuck. Westwood went onto design her first collection in 1981, before opening a second London shop in 1982. In 1996 Vivienne launched her 'MAN' menswear label.

Through an extensive distribution network, Vivienne Westwood products are sold today in 86 countries throughout 5 continents, with over 20 lines of products. Show rooms are seen in London, Paris, Milan and Tokyo.  Every fashion line has the famous orb logo either printed or stitched onto each of its items. This logo resembles one of the british crown jewels, that was created for the coronation of King Charles II. The jewelled aspect of the orb links Westwood's anchored position in the british fashion industry. 

The brand known for its eccentric style, her love of outlandish and daring silhouettes over the years, Vivienne Westwood has gained a huge fan base around the world. Largely responsible for bringing modern punk and a new wave of fashion into the mainstream. Vivienne Westwood MAN was the 1st line brand that was showcased on the catwalks of many famous fashion weeks around the world.
