Prada was founded in 1913 by a pair of brothers Mario & Martino Prada. They started designing and selling leather goods in a shop in Milan, Italy under the name ‘Fratelli Prada’ which means Prada Brothers. To begin with, they only sold leather goods and imported trunks and handbags from England to sell. It wasn't until Mario's granddaughter, Miuccia, took over in 1978 that the brand had their first commercial hit with waterproof backpacks. Prada expanded, and introduced ladies shoes, and its famous 'ready-to-wear ladies and men's collections, before developing the brand in terms of sunglasses.
The Prada sunglasses range is exactly what should be expected from such a powerful brand. They reflect a strong identity and unmistakable style, whilst maintaining a degree of understated elegance. Prada produces a range of glasses, some of which are suitable for high-fashion, and others which are more suitable for leisure and are designed with this as the main focus instead. In keeping with their clothing ranges, Prada has kept their sunglasses ranges largely in a neutral colour, making it easy to wear your favourite sunglasses with numerous outfits.
At Brother2Brother we sell two Prada Eyewear brands: Prada & Prada Linea Rossa. Prada eyewear is subtle with mainly the red Prada stripe to separate themselves from the other eyewear brands out there. Prada Linea Rossa was inspired by sports and the lifestyle that comes with it. The frames reflect the contemporary, high-end design style that the Prada Brothers wanted to come out. Linea Rossa brings out the stylish modern blueprint so that the collection is distinctive and one of a kind to Prada.
