After fleeing home family at the age of 17 and enrolling in Milan's Marangoni Institute, Franco Moschino worked as a freelance illustrator for fashion publications to make ends meet. Only three years later, he began working for the late, great Gianni Versace, a six-year adventure.
When Franco started Moschino in 1983, he introduced a refreshing quirkiness that piqued the interest of publications, celebrities, and a slew of designers. Jean-Paul Gaultier later dubbed him the "bad boy of fashion." His designs demonstrated Franco's skills and served as sarcastic manifestos on the condition of the business, employing sarcastic phrases and irreverent designs.
