The French Luxury fashion house Maison Marfiela is perhaps one of the most unusual yet wholly captivating producers of Haute-Couture Artisanal and ready-to-wear collections ver to grace the fashion world.

Launched by Belgain Royal Academy of Antwerp graduate Martin Margiela, Maison Margiela quickly rose through the ranks of trailblazing fashion for their deconstructive avant-garde designs, largely inspired by the Japanese avantagardist movement made famous by Comme des Garçon’s Rei Kawakubo. Their designs used unconventional materials such as plastic carrier bags and wire coat hangers rendered as oversized garments with intentionally exposed lines and seems.

The label’s unconventional fashion shows also captured the interest of many magazines for their unusual settings such as empty metro stations and street corners. Martin Margiela also kept a largely anonymous public image, refusing to take bows at shows and signing his correspondences with ‘we.’ The designer felt that the designs should speak for themselves and he was dubbed fashion’s ‘Invisible Man.’

Brother2Brother are proud stockists of a wide range of Maison Margiela’s luxuriously innovative ready-to-wear collections featuring a range of Number 11 and Number 13 line of heavy construction garments with unique signature branding and high-fashion stitch detailing.
