Last Saturday afternoon saw the opening weekend of the football season. As the Championship, Leagues 1 and 2 all kicked off down on the south coast, Portsmouth were hosting Oxford United in the August sunshine. Fratton Park, historically home to a thriving terrace culture and some of the most vocal fans in the country, looked majestic. Sadly, its inhabitants did not.
